Emma’s approach is neurodiversity-affirming, queer-inclusive and trauma-informed. She is guided by principles of social justice and is a strong advocate for human rights both in and out of the therapy chair. She practises with the understanding that your present is shaped by a variety of factors, including your early life experiences and the societal systems we live in. Emma’s background in developmental psychology brings a focus on attachment and an understanding of how our sense of identity shifts over time. She uses a variety of evidence-based approaches to help you understand your inner experiences. Emma has extensive experience supporting clients through life changes and transitions, anxiety, depression, and stress. She takes a holistic, whole-body approach to therapy and includes somatic and experiential principles in her sessions (rather than just focusing on thoughts and the mind). Emma has a keen interest in supporting neurodivergent folk to build lives and relationships that feel aligned, safe, and authentic. This might be through reconnecting to desire, building assertiveness skills, neuroqueering relationship concepts, exploring sensory experiences, and making space for curiosity around sexuality (including exploration of the asexuality spectrum). She is a fierce advocate for reducing societal shame and building clients’ confidence and self-compassion. Emma has experience in supporting clients across a wide range of relational and sexual health concerns, including intimacy and sexual health anxiety, navigating changes and transitions in relationships, sexual pain (i.e., vulvodynia, vaginismus, dyspareunia), desire and arousal dissatisfaction (including navigating libido differences and erectile difficulties), and orgasm-related difficulties (i.e., anorgasmia and orgasmic anhedonia). Her practice is built on the core values of honesty, openness, and collaboration, fostering an environment of trust and genuine partnership. Inspired by Esther Perel's work on erotic intelligence, Vishnu brings an intuitive and culturally attuned lens to discussions around relationships and sexuality. Her background includes working as a social care worker, a high school psychology teacher, and a mentor for young girls from marginalised communities, and more recently working with young people with disabilities and their families. Vishnu is passionate about supporting clients through a wide spectrum of sexual health and relational differences, including sexual pain, desire discrepancies, and relationship transitions. She provides affirming care for LGBTIQA+ individuals, those exploring kink and non-monogamous relationships, and clients seeking comprehensive sexual education. Her areas of particular interest include working with sexual pain conditions (such as vulvodynia, vaginismus, and dyspareunia), desire and arousal dissatisfaction (including libido differences and erectile difficulties), and orgasm-related difficulties (like anorgasmia and premature ejaculation). Outside of her practice, she enjoys cooking, spending time with her dog, and learning new languages.
