Hi, I'm Delaney – a Registered Counsellor (ACA Level 4, PACFA Clinical) and ACA-Accredited Supervisor. I bring a compassionate, client-centred approach to the counselling space, working with people from diverse backgrounds as they navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, relational challenges, and life transitions. Additionally, I have been a relief school counsellor within the Swan Christian Education Network for the past three years, gaining experience in areas such as school refusal, career planning, ADHD, and childhood anxiety. I am actively involved in the aviation industry's Peer Support and Employee Assistance Program (EAP). I focus on performance recovery in high-pressure environments and assist aviation personnel in returning to work. With over twenty-five years of experience as an aviation incident and accident investigator, I significantly understand the human factor and its associated mental states in high-pressure performance settings. I am a Defence Force veteran and reservist with over thirty years of service. I have encountered and addressed issues related to anger, PTSD, anxiety and the pressures of working away from home. I serve as a board member overseeing culture reform programs. As an immigrant, I have navigated the complexities of adapting to a new culture. Additionally, I am a husband and father of four wonderful children and deeply understand blended family challenges. Outside of counselling, I work as an air traffic controller and human factors, performance and safety specialist in the aviation industry. Although I have retired from high-level sports, I still enjoy playing and watching various sports. I am an avid researcher, a student for life, and I enjoy reading non-fiction books. I have a wonderful wife and four children, and our extended family includes one dog, two cats, and two horses.

Over the past four years, I’ve been honoured to provide a compassionate space for clients to explore the thoughts, feelings, and behaviours that keep them feeling stuck. I’m deeply passionate about the mind-body connection and work to strengthen my clients’ sense of self, build emotional resilience, and rediscover meaning and purpose. My approach is warm, person-centred, and trauma-informed. I draw on a range of evidence-based practices, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), gently weaving in mindfulness and body awareness to help clients understand and regulate their emotions. SUPERVISOR I am both a Clinical Counsellor and Accredited Clinical Supervisor with PACFA, and am currently available for supervision. My supervision approach is collaborative, supportive, non-judgemental & reflective. I have worked primarily with adult clients experiencing a range of mental health issues, DV, and trauma. I use an integrative trauma-informed and person-centred approach, and draw from modalities such as CBT, CPT, DBT & ACT. I have worked as a counsellor in many not-for-profit organisations, my roles have included, a specialist trauma counsellor in the domestic violence space, a high-intensity CBT counsellor, mental health counsellor and therapeutic group facilitator (leading Intro to DBT skills and a Hearing Voices group), and I currently work as an Occupational Rehabilitation Counsellor in employment services as well as counselling and supervising in my own private practice. Robyn has also previously worked as a team leader in a mental health not-for-profit organisation, providing individual and group supervision. I am a lived experience survivor of coercive control (manipulation), emotional, and financial abuse. Since 2011, I have been an Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE) caregiver, supporting individuals affected by the aftermath of domestic violence trauma and intergenerational gaps. This includes symptoms related to emotional and financial abuse, neglect, self-harm, suicidal ideation, eating disorders, sexual assault, bipolar disorder, OCD, and other co-occurring mental health challenges. I also continue to engage in self-healing from my own traumas. As a multilingual counsellor from a culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) background, I work collaboratively with GPs, allied health professionals, schools, child protection services, and justice systems to deliver integrated care for vulnerable communities. I’ve had three career transformations, and in each of those, I practised in the field for a minimum of five years (Learning & Development, Vocational Education Trainer and Graphic Designer). I specialise in psychosocial assessments through storytelling and holistic health education, supporting families and caregivers. My practice integrates person-centred, family-oriented care with strengths-based and trauma-responsive approaches, fostering resilience, growth, and wellbeing for individuals and families from diverse backgrounds. Outside of counselling, I am a PhD candidate researching attachment and its neurological impacts on child development.
