Overview

My top priority is to establish a therapeutic relationship with my clients. Everyone has a unique story, and creating a safe, calm, and confidential space for sharing is essential. My core skill and fundamental responsibility lie in listening with compassion and empathy, while focusing on the principles of attachment and reconnection. I provide clients with practical tools to help alleviate their struggles while exploring their underlying concerns. My clinical skills are based on lived experience and solid theoretical knowledge. I utilize trauma-informed and attachment-focused approaches, which allow me to map what is happening in the mind, body, and relationships. I combine various counselling modalities and tailor them to suit each unique situation. I work with individuals of all ages, couples, and families. I have been in private practice for the past two years, specializing in family counselling, play therapy, and trauma recovery. Additionally, I have served as a relief school counsellor within the Swan Christian Education Network for three years, gaining experience in areas such as school refusal, career planning, ADHD, and childhood anxiety. I am actively involved in a Peer Support and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) within the aviation industry. I focus on performance recovery in high-pressure environments and assist aviation personnel in returning to work. With over twenty-five years of experience as an aviation incident and accident investigator, I significantly understand the human factor and its associated mental states in high-pressure performance settings. I am a Defence Force veteran and reservist with over thirty years of service. I have encountered and addressed issues related to PTSD, anxiety and the pressures of working away from home. I serve as a board member overseeing culture reform programs. As an immigrant, I have navigated the complexities of adapting to a new culture. Additionally, I am a husband and father of four wonderful children and deeply understand blended family challenges. Outside of counselling, I work as an Air Traffic Controller and Safety Specialist in the aviation industry. Additionally, I am a member of the Air-services Australia Culture Reform Board and remain an active Defence Force reservist. Although I have retired from high-level sports, I still enjoy playing and watching various sports. I am an avid researcher, a student for life, and I enjoy reading non-fiction books. I have a wonderful wife and four children, and our extended family includes one dog, two cats, and two horses.
