Psychologist

Amy is a clinical psychologist who provides assessment and treatment of a variety of clinical and non-clinical presentations in children, adolescents, and young adults. She has an interest in treatment of the following: Anxiety; Depression, mood difficulties, low self-esteem; Trauma; and Relationship difficulties, such as sibling conflict, friendship problems, and bullying. With a warm, caring, and evidence-based approach, Amy explores how her clients have come to think, feel, and behave in the way they do, and uses this information to ensure that the treatment that she provides is tailored to their individual needs and concerns. Ashley is a qualified Occupational Therapist who graduated from James Cook University in Townsville. Ashley’s passion for working with children originated from working with children and in healthcare at a young age. She is driven and passionate about providing family centred care for children and their families as she believes it is important for children to choose activities that are meaningful to them. Ashley has had experience with groups and has evolved her skills through assistant therapy and is looking forward to pursuing specialisation areas in ASD, developmental delays and sensory processing differences.

Bonnie is skilled in assessment for learning-related difficulties and developmental concerns, and tries to work in liaison with the school to support and scaffold children in the educational setting. Brenda Hughes is a registered psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, a member of the Australian Psychological Society, and is a Medicare provider. Brenda’s undergraduate and Masters level training focused on educational and developmental psychology and she is skilled in providing therapy and conducting assessment. Brenda has experience working as a psychologist in schools and clinical settings where she has supported individuals with attachment and relationship difficulties, trauma, life transitions, divorce, self-esteem, attention difficulties, social skills, emotional regulation, behaviour difficulties, anxiety, and depression. He has over 15 years’ experience working with children, young people and parents. He has a deep understanding of the challenges faced by young people as they navigate childhood, adolescence and beyond. He works from a strengths-based perspective drawing on his clients’ individual abilities to help empower them to make positive changes in their lives. He has worked in the public and independent school systems, at both primary and secondary level. Bryn works with children and young people facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, grief, loss, academic stress, inattentiveness, perfectionism, relationship difficulties and social and emotional difficulties. Bryn works from a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Therapy. Caitlin is a registered Psychologist who is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the APS College of Counselling Psychologists. She completed her undergraduate study in psychology through Monash University and completed her postgraduate study through the University of Queensland. Her experience is varied having worked in the alcohol and other drug sector, the crisis support sector, the youth mental health sector and the NDIS sector. She is passionate about continuing her professional development and is completing the registrar program to gain endorsement as a Counselling Psychologist. Caitlin provides one on one therapy and adopts a warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental approach to support her clients to feel safe and comfortable in sessions. She works with people who are aged 14 years and up and who are experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress disorder, grief and loss, emotion regulation difficulties, substance use concerns, suicidal ideation, non-suicidal self-injury, interpersonal difficulties, low self-esteem and more. Caitlin also provides sessions under the Health4Minds brand of this private practice to adolescent and adult clients who have been referred under the Brisbane Minds trauma and suicide prevention pathways. Chelsea is a friendly, dedicated and skilful Paediatric Occupational Therapist who has a passion for working with our children, young people and their families who are looking for support with their mental health and developmental needs. Chelsea moved to Brisbane in October 2021, relocating from Auckland NZ for new lifestyle and work challenges. Chelsea completed her Bachelors of Health Science, Occupational Therapy and her Post Graduate Certificate in Mental Health and Addictions at the Auckland University of Technology NZ. Chelsea comes with an OT background of working in a public acute Child and Adolescent Mental Health clinic in Auckland for a few years, and most recently another private Paediatric clinic in the South of Brisbane. Chelsea’s experience and passions support therapy needs including; play therapy, developmental delays, GDD, ID, ASD, ADHD, ODD, emotion dysregulation, toileting, picky eating, prep and school readiness, life transitions, anxiety, low mood and depression, self harm, risk assessment and management, DBT, CBT, developmental trauma, body image and disordered eating, OCD, BPD, mindfulness, sleep hygiene and management, and sensory modulation and integration. She has experience working in schools, homes, clinic and via Telehealth. Dr Clea Headley

Clea is a registered Clinical Psychologist who holds a Doctor of Psychology (Clinical) and a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours). She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), the APS Clinical College and is a Board-Approved Supervisor. Clea has worked with people across the lifespan but is passionate about supporting children, adolescents, young adults and their families. She has worked in the public health system for 10 years, in both the inpatient and outpatient Child and Youth Mental Health Service. She has experience using a range of therapies including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Family Systems theory, including Narrative and Solution-Focused therapy. Clea is able to conduct comprehensive psychometric assessments to assess cognitive ability and learning difficulties. Clea is trained in Triple P and Circle of Security. She has experience in working with children, adolescents, and their families in inpatient, outpatient and community settings in the public and private sectors. Jayne has clinical expertise in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, bipolar disorders, trauma-related and stressor-related disorders, adjustment disorders, relationship difficulties, perinatal mental health (antenatal and postnatal depression, parenthood adjustment, and attachment and bonding difficulties), grief and loss, adjustment to medical conditions, parenting support, peer relationship difficulties, family breakdown, and self-esteem problems. Emma Wesche

Occupational Therapist

Emma is a creative, passionate and devoted therapist. She graduated from the University of the Sunshine Coast with a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy with Honours. Emma discovered early on in her degree that she has a love for paediatrics and completed considerable research in this area focussing on sensory processing. She chose to focus her honours research project on paediatric Occupational Therapy, gaining a vast amount of knowledge including new and relevant findings. Emma was involved in creating a protocol for a pilot study at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital Paediatric Outpatient Clinic. Emma has experience working in private paediatric clinics, schools, childcare centres and she has also volunteered with Inclusion Netball. Emma has experience working with children on fine and gross motor skills, toileting, play skills and emotional regulation. She worked with these children in a paediatric clinic setting while liaising with teachers and parents to maintain a family centred approach. Emma takes a holistic approach and aims to make all sessions client-centred to ensure they are engaging and motivating to help children achieve their goals. She uses her creativity and fun-loving attitude to build rapport and produce a positive and supportive environment for the children and families she works with. Emma takes a collaborative approach, involving the families, other allied health professionals and teachers in the therapy journey. She firmly believes that this helps to establish consistency of therapy strategies across all environments for the child.

Huda Shaikh

Huda is a general psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a member of the Australian Association for Psychologists (AAPi). Huda is passionate about supporting the well-being of young individuals. With a warm, empathetic, and evidence-based approach, she has garnered professional expertise through her roles in both school and clinical settings. Her focus lies in supporting young people and their families in various challenges. Huda is skilled in conducting psychometric assessments, including cognitive and achievement assessments to explore developmental and learning-related concerns, and assessment for attention-related concerns. She provides comprehensive assessments and detailed reports. The reports include tailored recommendations for both school and home environments, ensuring a holistic and effective approach to addressing the unique needs of each individual.

Margaret Wills

Counsellor

Margie is a counsellor with a background in education. She has had considerable experience working with adolescents. Margie has an interest in the areas of ADHD, learning difficulties and ASD; particularly with respect to young people. Margie’s therapeutic approach is based on the techniques associated with CBT, SFT and Motivational Interviewing, but is dependent on the individual needs of clients. Specialist tutoring is also a possible consideration. Margie is also available for Counselling and Specialist Tutoring Support for secondary school students.

Mr Cameron O'Reilly

Cameron is a driven and passionate Occupational Therapist who strives to provide meaningful and enjoyable intervention to provide children with the best possible opportunity for growth. Cameron’s passions originate from experiencing the world of professional medicine/allied health from a young age in his own family background and seeing first hand the importance of a client and family centred approach to therapy. Having graduated from the University of the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Cameron spent the first 2 years working within a private paediatric clinic in the north shore of Sydney. Cameron has various experiences in the disability and play therapy sectors, school-based and both public/private paediatric therapy fields.

Mr Peter Marcon

Peter is an endorsed provider of psychological services through Medicare, and provides psychological services to NDIS recipients. Mrs Debbie Walker

Debbie has had a long career working with children and adolescents as a Speech and Language Pathologist. Her job has taken her around the world where she has had extensive experiences with supporting a wide range of people with speech, language and communication needs. In Scotland, Debbie had a lead role in an Autism Diagnostic Team in the North of Glasgow. Debbie has always enjoyed working closely with children and their families to help them find the best ways to enhance language and communication, as these skills are the building blocks to later social and educational success and literacy acquisition. Debbie is skilled at looking at the needs, motivations and interests for each client to find the way forward for each family. There is no one approach that fits all and Debbie assesses and plans intervention that best supports your child or young person.

Mrs Jameema John

Jameema is a provisional psychologist and member of the Australian Psychological Society. She holds a Master's degree in Applied Psychology, with a specialization in Counseling and Psychotherapy. Her professional journey has encompassed a broad spectrum of clientele. She has interned with juveniles, teens and adults with physical and neurodevelopmental disorders, as well as adults facing complex psychological challenges such as depression, schizophrenia, substance abuse disorders, and bipolar disorders. She was able to combine faith-based principles with psychological expertise through weekly lectures given on Counseling. Ms Maree Richardson

Maree is a Speech Language Pathologist with international experience in clinical and educational settings. Born and raised in Outback Australia, health services were difficult for her family to access. Therefore, Maree has a strong desire for family-centered services to be accessible to children from all backgrounds, so that they grow to become confident citizens in their communities. Maree holds a Bachelor of Speech Pathology with Distinction from the University of Newcastle. She is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP) and a member of Speech Pathology Australia. She also received her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC’s) from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA). Maree’s areas of expertise include early intervention, speech and language development, and literacy acquisition. She has experience providing individualised intervention to children with a variety of complex communication needs, and has been trained in the Sounds-Write approach to phonics and literacy.

Ms Vicky Jebsen

Vicky Jebsen is a Counsellor and Educational Consultant with the team at All About Kids. She has qualifications in both education and counselling, including research at Masters degree level in early childhood behaviour difficulties. Vicky has both undergraduate degrees in psychology and postgraduate degrees in counselling and education, and more than twenty-five years experience working with children and their families within early childhood settings, primary schools and TAFE. She has a passion for parenting and child behaviour management. With a background in Triple P, MYCP, 123 Magic and ABA she is able to provide an individualised level of support in this area. Vicky has extensive experience in learning difficulties, and is a coach for the working memory training program, COGMED. Simona Tanasie

Simona is a Psychologist registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) and also  a member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS). She has full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Simona obtained her undergraduate psychology degree overseas, and then completed a Masters Degree at the University of South Australia. Throughout her studies, Simona has volunteered and worked in a range of settings including schools, hospitals and community services. She worked at a special needs school which involved supporting children who had been diagnosed with learning difficulties, intellectual disabilities or other mental health disorders. She also worked with adults experiencing adjustment difficulties following illness. Simona enjoys working with individuals of all ages. She adopts a warm, collaborative and non-judgemental approach to help her clients achieve goals and build resilience, in order to create lasting change and improve their quality of life. Simona is passionate about building relationships and working with people from diverse backgrounds and populations. Tsun Fai (Kelvin) Ip

Tsun Fai Ip (Kelvin) is a general psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). He has extensive experience in childhood and adolescent mental health, such as emotional regulation, anxiety and anger management. Particularly, he is passionate about working with young individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), providing 1-on-1 psychological therapy. He is skilled in conducting diagnostic assessment for ASD (e.g., ADOS-2 and CARS-2), as well as cognitive and achievement assessment for developmental/learning-related difficulties (e.g., WISC-V and WIAT-III). Kelvin is an advocate of play-based therapy, an approach that has shown positive outcomes with regards to social communication development.
