Overview

Clea is a registered Clinical Psychologist who holds a Doctor of Psychology (Clinical) and a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours). She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), the APS Clinical College and is a Board-Approved Supervisor. Clea has worked with people across the lifespan but is passionate about supporting children, adolescents, young adults and their families. She has worked in the public health system for 10 years, in both the inpatient and outpatient Child and Youth Mental Health Service. She has experience using a range of therapies including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Family Systems theory, including Narrative and Solution-Focused therapy. Clea is able to conduct comprehensive psychometric assessments to assess cognitive ability and learning difficulties. Clea is trained in Triple P and Circle of Security. Through her continued work with young people who have severe and complex mental health conditions, she is experienced in working with a range of difficulties including anxiety disorders (obsessive compulsive disorder, phobias, social anxiety and panic), depressive disorders, trauma, eating disorders, adjustment disorders and developmental disorders (including attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder and autism spectrum disorder). She is experienced in working with parents and has a passion for supporting parents with their reflective functioning and attachment needs using the Circle of Security framework. Clea’s therapeutic approach is compassionate, warm and empathic. Her goal is to create a safe space for young people and their parents to explore and understand their emotional experiences and collaboratively develop meaningful treatment goals.
