Amy Shah

Psychologist

Amy is a registered psychologist who holds a Masters in Professional Psychology. She is also a registered counsellor with a Masters in Counselling. Amy uses an Integrative Approach in working with her clients with an aim to build a supportive, non-judgmental, empathetic and safe space for her clients to be comfortable to share and explore their concerns. Amy believes that each individual has the capacity to overcome their difficulties and therapeutic work is a process that can support people recognise and use their capabilities. With a collaborative approach she works with the client to empower them, create clarity, insight, and a lasting change. Amy values openness and encourages her clients to provide feedback regarding the sessions. Amy provides crisis support and therapy to people (CALD backgrounds) going through mental health issues, relationship breakdown, suicide/self-harm prevention, workplace harassment, domestic/family violence and also providing support when people are looking for direction in life, or going through a difficult phase in their lives. Amy uses a wide range of modalities in her therapy work: Existential therapy; Person Centered Therapy; Solution Focused Brief Therapy; Acceptance Commitment Therapy; Mindfulness; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Social Worker

Nic has a very down to earth approach, and believes that someone’s decision to seek out therapeutic support to deal with something they may have been struggling with for a while takes a lot of courage. She uses a combination of somatic psycho-education, CBT, DBT, and strengths based narrative work. Nic has over thirty five years’ experience in the field of social work and mental health, including provision of therapeutic interventions for workplace and motor vehicle accident trauma, emergency services, self-harm and suicidality. This has incorporated provision of critical incident debriefing to groups including construction workers post industrial accidents, hospital staff following assaults, and emergency services personnel. She has also: worked as a specialist family violence counsellor for over ten years, both in community services sector and in private practice, and has facilitated a therapeutic group program for survivors of intimate partner violence/abuse. worked as a therapist providing support and advocacy for National Redress Scheme applications for survivors of institutional child sexual abuse. worked in regional areas and understands the challenges of locating resources to meet mental health demand. worked with people struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief and loss, new parenthood, and disability. In addition to completing her Behavioural Science and Social Work degrees, Nic has completed further study in the field of interpersonal neurobiology, based on the work of Drs Peter Levine, Bessel Van der Kolk, and Stephen Porges. This field is at the forefront of diagnosing and treating trauma related illness based on the body’s sympathetic and parasympathetic reactions.

Mr Dominik Styczynski

Dominik is a registered psychologist that holds a master’s degree in professional psychology and is a member of the APS. Dominik is caring, non judgemental, and is committed to providing best care for his clients. He believes that a strong relationship between clinician and client is paramount to healing and is committed to this process. Dominik is also very collaborative in his approach and believes that therapist and client must work together to get the most out of therapy. He has extensive experience working with young adults from various backgrounds and can work well with people aged 18 and over. Dominik has experience working in a private practice, community clinic, and an academy for the arts. He has worked with presenting issues such as: anxiety, depression, ADHD, suicidal ideations/self-harm, grief & loss, relationship difficulties, Trauma, PTSD, and everyday stress. When working with clients, Dominik is primarily a CBT oriented therapist but understands that every client is unique and tailors his approach to suit their needs. He utilises components of other approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy, grief counselling, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

Michael is a registered psychologist completing his Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society. He is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care through a collaborative therapeutic approach that prioritises the client-therapist relationship as fundamental to healing. Michael is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). He has experience working across a variety of settings including schools and hospitals. Tom is a registered psychologist with experience supporting clients with a wide range of presenting issues. Tom also has a degree in history in addition to his qualifications in psychology. Emma Clarris is a Counselling Psychologist and Clinical Psychology Registrar with extensive experience in individual and group counselling. She has tertiary qualifications in Law, Masters Degrees in Counselling Psychology, Criminology (Forensic Psychology), Taxation and was a practising lawyer for several years before becoming a psychologist. As such, she brings a diverse background to her work. She is also a trained Coach and has written several coaching programs in the areas of leadership and employment services. Emma’s counselling philosophy is based on offering the individual an alternative approach to common interventions, giving them the opportunity to acknowledge and confront their own self-imposed barriers to employment, design and master their individual solutions and implement a long-term plan that produces lasting change. Her approach is founded in humanistic and psychodynamic principles but utilises a solution focussed, positive psychology philosophy to bring about results.
