Dr Ashlen San Letho Clinical Psychologist Ashlen focuses on providing a warm and secure relationship with each of her clients in order to support them in achieving the most therapeutic change. She is dedicated to being a stable base from which her clients are empowered to apply their strengths to the challenges in their lives, find meaning and direction, and be their most effective. She works with a range of presentations including depression, low self-esteem, adjustment and life transition difficulties, issues with identity, and complex trauma. Her special areas of interest are in the treatment of anxiety disorders, relational and attachment issues. She has published research on anxiety and insomnia in international journals, and has most recently conducted research on the use of imagery in the treatment of Social Anxiety Disorder. Skilled in a range of approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Schema Therapy, Ashlen is able to tailor treatment to the specific needs of each person. She is particularly interested in working from a psychodynamic and attachment-based perspective, in order to help her clients understand and modify unhelpful relational patterns. Ashlen is a Clinical Psychologist holding a combined Doctor of Clinical Psychology and Master of Science degree from the University of Sydney, and an Honours degree in Psychology from Macquarie University. Ashlen sees adults and adolescents at our Crows Nest consultation rooms. Ms Katiana Shaw Registered Psychologist: BSc(Comm), MHSSH, GradDipPsych, BAPsych (Hons), MPsych(Forensic), MAPS, Forensic Psychology Registrar Katiana holds several degrees in science and psychology, and is a qualified Psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA). She holds membership with the Australian Psychologist Society (APS) and is currently pursuing endorsement in Forensic Psychology. Katiana has experience working in correctional centres, community-based offender services, research settings, and private practice. Utilising a wide range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Katiana works with adults presenting with depression, anxiety, addiction disorders, interpersonal difficulties, and personality disorders. Katiana obtained a Master of HIV, STIs and Sexual Health from the University of Sydney in 2012 and has a special interest in aiding individuals and couples to work through relationship difficulties, sexual dysfunctions, sexually transmitted infections, and concerns relating to sexuality. She has experience in addressing low sexual desire, erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, genito-pelvic pain disorder, intimate relationship conflict, and infidelity. Katiana has a warm and open-minded approach to ensure a safe and validating space to discuss sensitive topics. Katiana is dedicated to helping clients achieve their goals to improve their overall wellbeing. Katiana works with individuals in their late teenage years to late adulthood.

Ms Melanie Truscott

Melanie completed her degree in Clinical and Organisational Psychology at the University Koblenz-Landau, Germany. Her qualifications were assessed by the Australian Psychological Society as being equivalent to a Masters Degree in Psychology completed in Australia, and Melanie has been a Registered Psychologist since 2005 and a member of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists since 2012. Melanie has gained experience within the fields of workers compensation, employee assistance programs (EAP) as well as health service settings. Whilst working for an EAP provider, she conducted counselling and critical incident management with clients from multiple corporate and government organisations. Since 2008, in her role with NSW Health, Melanie has been providing psychological assessment and therapy to clients experiencing a range of substance use and comorbid mental health problems, including anxiety and depression, stress and adjustment, trauma, schizophrenia and personality disorders. As part of this role, she also provides clinical supervision to psychologists and students, as well as clinical staff from other health professions. Melanie was originally trained in a traditional CBT model and related evidence based interventions. Over the past years, she has developed a strong interest and clinical skills in mindfulness based therapies including ACT and DBT, which she practises based on client's individual requirements.
