Ms Melanie Truscott Psychologist

Melanie completed her degree in Clinical and Organisational Psychology at the University Koblenz-Landau, Germany. Her qualifications were assessed by the Australian Psychological Society as being equivalent to a Masters Degree in Psychology completed in Australia, and Melanie has been a Registered Psychologist since 2005 and a member of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists since 2012. Melanie has gained experience within the fields of workers compensation, employee assistance programs (EAP) as well as health service settings. Whilst working for an EAP provider, she conducted counselling and critical incident management with clients from multiple corporate and government organisations. Since 2008, in her role with NSW Health, Melanie has been providing psychological assessment and therapy to clients experiencing a range of substance use and comorbid mental health problems, including anxiety and depression, stress and adjustment, trauma, schizophrenia and personality disorders. As part of this role, she also provides clinical supervision to psychologists and students, as well as clinical staff from other health professions. Melanie was originally trained in a traditional CBT model and related evidence based interventions. Over the past years, she has developed a strong interest and clinical skills in mindfulness based therapies including ACT and DBT, which she practises based on client's individual requirements.
