Psychologist

I am passionate about nurturing others’ capacity to thrive. I enjoy working with people from all walks of life, and actively create safe spaces centred around acceptance, curiosity, and authentic connection. My experience extends across both clinical private practice and high-performance sport settings, working with individuals, teams and broader systems. I understand that as humans, we live, work and play within groups and communities that may or may not always fit our individual needs and goals. With this in mind, no matter what’s going on for you, we’ll work together to create meaningful change in your life through increased insight, understanding, and capacity to do what matters to you. With my additional specialised training in sport and performance psychology, we can optimiseyour performance potential through tailored mental skills training to make your mind work for you, not against you. This approach isn’t just for high performers – investing in your mental fitness will allow you to more consistently engage in all parts of your life in the face of inevitablechallenges and setbacks, whether that’s in relationships, work or the ongoing demands of daily life. I work with children aged 11 years+, young people and adults.

I take a collaborative approach to therapy. When working with me, I aim to create a warm and respectful space where you can experience felt safety, a sense of being understood, accepted, and able to share openly without fear of judgment. I believe that healing is deeply relational. When individuals feel seen, safe, and supported enough to be vulnerable, meaningful growth and change can naturally unfold. I have worked with individuals across the lifespan in a variety of settings, including primary and secondary schools, tertiary education, private practice and research settings. I see my role as helping clients make sense of patterns, explore emotional needs, and support meaningful change at a pace that feels safe and sustainable. By creating a warm and respectful space where clients can experience felt safety, meaningful growth can naturally unfold through relational healing. In my work with children, I utilise an eclectic mix of play and other evidence based therapeutic approaches to suit various developmental stages. I am deeply aware of how cultural values such as achievement, emotional restraint, respect for authority, and collectivism can shape how individuals relate to themselves and others. While these values can be meaningful strengths, they make it difficult for people to express vulnerability or prioritise their own emotional needs. This has shaped my desire to create a therapeutic space grounded in psychological and relational safety, where clients feel understood and able to explore their experiences without judgment. I work with children 6+, with families of children younger than 6 (offering parenting support), as well as adolescents and adults. While my practice is primarily conducted in English, I can integrate Mandarin (Chinese) into client sessions. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring Melbourne’s food scene and am an active member of my local Muay Thai gym.

I take a collaborative, practical approach to therapy. I see therapy as a shared process, where we work together to understand what’s impacting you and develop strategies that are realistic, evidence-based and tailored to your goals. Early sessions focus on getting to know you, understanding what has brought you to therapy and clarifying what you would like to work towards. From there, therapy is shaped together with a focus on what is most helpful. At times this may involve developing specific skills or strategies. Other times, the focus may be on reflection, insight, and making sense of patterns over time. I work with children, adolescents, and adults across a range of challenges. My work often focuses on difficulties related to emotional regulation, stress, relationships, and navigating periods of change. These concerns can present differently across developmental stages and life contexts, including for boys and men. My aim is to provide a respectful, non-judgemental space where people feel able to speak openly. I value collaboration, clarity, and honesty, and see the therapeutic relationship as central to meaningful and sustainable change.

I take an integrative approach to therapy and aim to create a warm, supportive, and collaborative space where you feel heard and understood. My goal is to work alongside you to help you move toward your therapeutic goals, while building confidence in yourself and maintaining meaningful, sustainable change. I am a clinical psychology registrar with several years of experience as a general psychologist in Melbourne. My professional background includes working with young people and adults across primary health care, tertiary education, and community psychology settings, providing both individual and group therapy. I have been a full member of the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy Association Australia (EMDRA) since 2020, and am passionate about this modality of therapy, amongst a range of others. I endeavour to build a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients, which supports a collaborative approach to understanding and working on issues in a meaningful way. Gaining a sense of a client’s therapy goals is something I prioritize on in initial sessions, to help provide a sense of direction with therapy as it progresses. I work with adults across the lifespan experiencing a range of concerns, including depression, life transitions, grief and loss, managing the emotional impact of chronic pain, and stress. I also have a special interest in supporting individuals with anxiety-related difficulties, including health anxiety, phobias, generalised anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

I aim to create a warm and supportive space where we can focus on what matters most to you. In our first session, we’ll spend some time getting to know each other, gathering information, and making sure we’re a good fit. It’s also a chance to talk about what you’d like sessions to feel like, so we can shape the process in a way that works best for you. As therapy progresses, we’ll build on this foundation together, checking in along the way, identifying what’s showing up for you, and developing strategies to support you through challenges. I often incorporate animal assisted therapy with the support of my therapy dog (Poppy), which can be a great way to build regulation skills, support social connection, and create a calming atmosphere. When working with children, I draw on play-based approaches to help them engage and explore their feelings in a natural way. Outside of work, I enjoy art, puzzles, video games, running, going to the movies, and spending time with my dogs and family.

My main aim is to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and understood. My style of practice is collaborative and person-centered. I will work alongside you to help you better understand yourself, navigate challenges, and build more sustainable ways of coping and connecting. I am trained and experienced in cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and dialectical behaviour therapy. Regardless, I understand that one size does not fit all, so I use an individualised approach to therapy that is guided by your unique needs and goals. To begin with, we will gain a shared understanding of the issues that have led you to therapy. Then, I will support you to develop skills that help you navigate those issues and move closer to the outcomes you are seeking. I have previously worked in various private and public mental health services including inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. I have also held roles in research and education. I have experience working with people across the lifespan, including children/parents, adolescents, and adults.

I am passionate about creating a person-centred, welcoming space to foster curiosity, exploration, and understanding of personal and life challenges. My approach is collaborative, and I tailor it to your individual needs to ensure that you benefit in the time we have together. A strong therapeutic relationship is an essential foundation for improving psychological well-being. My aim is to create a space that is comfortable, welcoming, and trauma-informed so you can feel safe discussing your needs openly. Our first session is primarily dedicated to getting to know each other. I dedicate this time to actively listening to your thoughts, emotions, stories, and concerns, which helps us paint a clear picture and gain insight into what brought you here. From there, we work collaboratively to define the goals we want to focus on. I offer a diverse and integrated approach, drawing on many different therapies to meticulously tailor treatment to what you are aiming to address. Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy going to music gigs, visiting farmers markets, and taking my border collie to the beach.
