Katie Smoker — Counselling & Psychotherapy
Katie Smoker is a compassionate and dedicated counsellor and psychotherapist offering individual therapy, couples counselling, and family therapy. With a strong academic foundation in psychology and counselling, and currently completing a Master’s in Counselling and Psychotherapy, Katie combines advanced clinical training with genuine empathy, professional expertise, and the insight of lived experience to help clients create meaningful change.
Katie has a special interest in trauma therapy and stress-related conditions, supporting clients experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, complex PTSD, social anxiety, OCD, insomnia, eating disorders, low self-esteem, and identity challenges, including introvert–extrovert dynamics. She is passionate about helping people develop healthy personal boundaries, strengthen communication in relationships, and build resilient, connected lives.
Her therapeutic approach integrates a wide range of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Schema Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and the Person-Centred Approach. As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-II), Katie provides safe, effective, trauma-informed counselling tailored to each client’s unique needs.
Katie is passionate about promoting mental health awareness and emotional well-being. She supports individuals, couples, and families to build resilience, improve relationships, and live more confident, connected, and purposeful lives.
