Jo is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker registered with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Jo has a Bachelor of Social Work and a Masters in Counselling and Human Services majoring in a therapeutic approach called Emotion Focused Therapy. After working for some time just focusing on her clients' cognitive processes and learning about the complex link between a person's gut health and overall cognitive well-being Jo completed further studies and is a Registered Integrative Health Practitioner Level 2 (IHP2). She holds professional registration with the International Institute for Complementary Therapists and can provide a holistic approach to mental health care. Her experience in mental health practice has been in both the public and private sectors since 2010. Jo has worked in private practice since 2016. She has worked with a broad range of age groups including; adolescents, parents, adults, and the elderly. Jo has a special interest in working with individuals experiencing depression and anxiety and also with women struggling with imbalanced hormones including PCOS. The therapeutic approaches Jo draws most on in practice include a combination of but are not limited to; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help you unpack the thought processes associated with the issue at hand, Emotion Focused Therapy to help you gain an understanding of your emotional response, and Narrative Therapy to help you understand the stories you develop and carry with you. The outcome of using these three therapeutic approaches in practice supports you to feel understood in your personal journey, help’s you to develop a deeper understanding and knowing about who you are as a person and then I will give you the tools to either shift the perspective you once had or you will leave with the tools you need to manage the life challenges you present with. Jo can also run a range of Functional Medicine Lab testing to identify root cause imbalances in the body. These tests can help identify why you have low energy, bloating, brain fog, can’t lose weight, are feeling tired and wired, experiencing rapid aging and the list goes on. When we’re able to identify the toxicities and deficiencies in the body then we can work on rebalancing the body so that you can have the energy, vitality, and improved mental health that you’re after. Jo also provides the AromaTouch Technique (ATT) which is a clinical approach to applying essential oils. ATT is not a regular full-body massage, it is a 45-minute to 1-hour treatment. The essential oils applied along energy lines and reflexology points stimulates homeostasis and balance the body. ATT helps to improve well-being by reducing physical and emotional stressors, supports healthy autonomic function, stimulates the body’s energy lines, centers/balances your body system and its function. In addition, this treatment can also help to stimulate the emotional center of your brain creating a sense of well-being.

Annecke is an experienced, professional counsellor who has been supporting adolescents, adults, couples, and families for more than 10 years. Annecke is registered with the Australian Counselling Association. She supports clients with a broad range of issues and has a specific interest in the dynamics of relationships. Her positive and compassionate approach encourages her clients to feel comfortable, as she creates a safe environment for clients to explore their life challenges and navigate through difficult times. She helps clients to develop, build, and maintain skills to systematically change what is within their power. This process empowers clients to be more in control of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours and they learn to consider alternative ways to exist in relationships. By exploring an area of concern and seeking insight into the underlying issues and impacts, Annecke opens up the opportunity for the client to gain an understanding into their problems which facilitates their personal growth. In this way, each counselling session can develop into a liberating experience. Annecke is committed to help her clients develop self-awareness through introspection, as she believes that understanding oneself is fundamental to a well-balanced and happy life. During the course of our lives, experiences impact on our emotional growth. We can become trapped in unhelpful thinking patterns and beliefs about ourselves and our relationship to others. This can potentially hold us back from being the best version of ourselves. Annecke believes that every person has the innate ability and resources to be in harmony with themselves and other people, and has the capacity to lead a fulfilling and inspirational life. With her insightful guidance, Annecke works with the client to help them achieve this by tapping into her extensive experience, knowledge, and skills. Each session with Annecke is tailored to meet the client’s personal therapeutic needs. Thalia works primarily with LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent people, especially those navigating autism, ADHD, gender diversity, sexual diversity, and complex trauma. They’ve got experience supporting people 14 and up, though most of their work is with 18–35-year-olds. Whether you’re deep into your queer journey, just starting to wonder if you might be autistic, or anywhere in between, Thalia’s here for it. They’re particularly passionate about working with neurodivergent women, neurodivergent trans and gender-diverse people, and the broader LGBTQIA+ community. Thalia is not suitable for anyone seeking Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). What people appreciate most about Thalia is how real and intentional they are. Sessions aren’t about ticking boxes or following a rigid structure—they’re about what actually matters to you. You’re encouraged to show up exactly as you are, and if that means needing breaks, stimming, or any other accommodations, that’s totally fine. Thalia will probably be sipping a coffee and fiddling with a fidget toy while you chat. As a queer AuDHDer, Thalia brings a mix of lived experience and practical strategies into their work. They know that exploring mental health can be messy and overwhelming, so they do their best to make sessions feel safe, collaborative, and empowering. Their approach is shaped by Liberation Psychology, Mad Pride, and Compassion-Focused Therapy — frameworks that challenge stigma and centre your lived reality. Outside of sessions, Thalia loves video games, reality TV, and live music. They sometimes cook (with mixed success), enjoy a good pub trivia night, and listen to everything from metal to jazz to rap to pop. They’re also big on Japanese food, comedy shows, drinking coffee, cats, and going to the gym. Most of all, they love spending time with their close friends and partner.

Rachael’s down-to-earth, evidence-based, and holistic approach offers practical, compassionate support for improving mental health and relationships. While she specialises in working with children, adolescents, and young adults, her style welcomes anyone who values an open-minded and relaxed therapeutic environment. At Mixed Bag, you are the boss. You don’t work for Rachael — she works for you. We are committed to reminding you of your position of power at every opportunity. Many people come to Mixed Bag with histories of harm, trauma, and abuse. Rachael’s humble, genuine, and strength-based approach is trauma-informed and person-centred — meaning her priority is ensuring you feel powerful, in control, and, above all, safe. Safe from shame, judgment, or any further harm. At Mixed Bag, we want to help you achieve your goals, recognizing that long-term therapy isn’t realistic — or even helpful for everyone. Rachael’s hope is to support you in building skills for life, empowering you to a point where you no longer “need” her. Together, you and Rachael will co-create a care plan tailored to your unique needs, preferences, and situation. This provides a clear direction and puts you in control. You’ll have intentional opportunities to offer feedback along the way — what’s working for you, and what isn’t. Typically, you’ll set weekly or fortnightly sessions at a time that suits you, with check-ins around the 6th and 12th sessions to review progress. Having a ‘Mixed Bag’ of therapeutic skills means Rachael can adapt her approach as needed, offering new tools and strategies to best support you. Care plans can be extended if needed, including assistance with funding applications, so you never feel rushed in your recovery journey. Once your therapy goals are met, you’ll have the option of scheduling sessions as needed — helping you stay on track on your life’s chosen path. Sometimes, Rachael may not be the best professional fit — and that’s completely okay. We are committed to supporting you in finding someone who is right for you. Rachael can facilitate a warm handover to another professional who better matches your needs, preferences, or style — at no cost. Counsellors are the tool of their trade, and feeling comfortable with who you work with is essential. Nothing is ever taken personally; even the smallest things, like the colour of a counsellor’s hair, can trigger responses, and we honor that. Rachael’s hope is always to be a safe, supportive steppingstone in your journey — whether your time together is brief or ongoing. We can’t wait to work with you.
