As Emma can personally attest, becoming a parent leaves no person as it found them. With a passion for supporting mothers and families during their most transformative periods, Emma has been working as a perinatal mental health clinician for the past 8 years. She has worked extensively with parents navigating the emotional, psychological, social and physical challenges of pregnancy, childbirth, and early parenthood. Emma has an empathetic approach combining warmth, understanding, and perinatal knowledge to create a safe space for her clients. Her work spans individual support, group sessions, and educational workshops, all designed to empower parents and promote mental wellness during this critical life stage.

Ms Bec Curtin

Counsellor

Bec is passionate about supporting clients with navigating the many challenges of parenthood that can have a huge impact on mental health and emotional wellbeing. Her experience includes five years working at the Perinatal Wellbeing Centre providing counselling services and facilitating workshops and support groups for new parents. She has created and facilitated birth trauma support groups as well as antenatal wellbeing workshops in collaboration with The Canberra Hospital. Bec also has a specialised interest in grief and loss, having worked at Tender Funerals supporting families navigate bereavement including perinatal loss and stillbirth. She also has a special interest in the intersection between ADHD and becoming a parent. Her own journey to parenthood presented many challenges including IVF and multiple losses. Her children, a son and twin girls, are now in their teenage years which come with a whole new smorgasbord of challenges. Bec has a BA, Grad Dip (Counselling) and Masters (Counselling).
