Overview

Therapy with Tess I believe it is a great privilege to be able to hold a safe space for someone, to hear their story, and really listen so they may feel heard and valued. I am deeply passionate about supporting individuals along their journey, as they work toward achieving their goals. My therapeutic style can be described as holistic and collaborative, where I don't believe 'one size fits all'. I believe everyone is their own person and are unique in their own way. I have a client centred approach which draws on the clients unique set of strengths and skills. I am passionate about supporting young people and their families, strengthen relationships and overcome experiences of trauma. I also have a special interest in working with couples and adults, to support their personal growth, self-awareness, sense of self and confidence within themselves and overall sense of wellbeing and satisfaction in life. Tess' Qualifications & Experience Tess is a provisionally registered psychologist with AHPRA (GradDipAdv). Inspired by her own lived experience, Tess first started working in the holistic health industry over a decade ago, having worked as a remedial massage therapist for several years, working as a freelance writer (with published work both locally and internationally). And later gaining her qualifications in a master of Wellness Coaching accredited by the International Coaching Institute, prior to pursuing psychology later in life, to deepen her knowledge and strengthen her tool kit to help others. During her psychology studies, Tess volunteered as a youth mentor in a high school and worked as a psychosocial support worker and recovery coach, developing the skills, understanding and awareness to work with diverse populations, across the life-span, with various mental health conditions and complex presentations including but not limited to psychotic disorders, developmental, mood, behavioural and personality disorders. During her internship, she has also worked extensively with children 8 years and over, parents and their families and has developed a special interest in working with young girls and teens experiencing challenges with social anxiety, confidence, and self-esteem. LOCATION Tess is at READ Clinic West Gosford only.
