Sarah offers a welcoming, non-judgmental environment where clients feel seen, heard, and safe. With a collaborative and down-to-earth approach, she gently supports people to explore their experiences at a pace that feels right for them. Guided by values of inclusivity, affirmation, compassion, and sex-positivity, Sarah honours each client’s goals and recognises that every person is the expert in their own experience.
Sarah’s background in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) fostered her interest in self-awareness, relationships, and connection with the environment. In this work, she supported children, adolescents, and adults with diverse abilities and identities, including members of the LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities. Sarah also has research experience working with the trans-femme community exploring positive body image, social issues and factors that foster resilience.
Sarah is passionate about helping individuals cultivate healthy, fulfilling relationships and deepen emotional awareness, trust, communication, and nervous system regulation. She also has experience with various mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, stress, and adjustment difficulties.
Sarah has a strong interest in supporting clients experiencing a wide range of sexual health concerns, including sexual pain (vulvodynia, vaginismus, dyspareunia), sexual health anxiety, desire and arousal difficulties, mismatched libido, and orgasm-related concerns such as anorgasmia, orgasmic anhedonia, and premature ejaculation.
Sarah's special interest is supporting women, sexual and gender-diverse people, sex workers, and those engaged in kink or non-monogamous relationships, however she welcomes everyone. Drawing on various therapeutic approaches, Sarah aims to help clients cultivate empowerment, self-compassion, and to live life authentically and in line with their values.
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys dancing, art, spending time with animals and nature, and appreciates a well-made cup of tea.
Please note that Sarah also has experience supporting clients in a range of other mental and sexual health areas beyond what’s listed here. If you’d like to know more, please reach out to our intake team at intake@shipspsychology.com.au.
