Phillipa is a registered psychologist. She has a passion for helping people work through issues to find positive and meaningful life changes. She believes the essential component of an effective relationship in therapy is forming a safe place to enable the mind to engage in transformative processes such as curiosity and self-exploration.
Phillipa has worked with children and adults in a range of different settings from community support and universities through to private practice. She helps people to identify, manage and regulate difficult emotions in a process involving a deeper understanding of the self.
Phillipa’s therapeutic style is solution-focussed and motivational drawing upon a range of evidence-based treatments that keep the unique needs of the client firmly in mind. She primarily uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. With this combined
approach, she aims to empower people to develop a greater understanding of their feelings, thoughts and behaviours and build the awareness and confidence to develop new ways of being and relating to others.
