Irene is an accredited Counsellor, and Psychotherapist and registered Senior Yoga Teacher. She holds a master's degree in human resources and completed a BA in Counselling and Psychotherapy at the Ikon Institute of Australia. Irene has more than a decade of expertise in the practice and teaching of Yoga. She is the founder of Kahuna Temple, a business dedicated to supporting the restoration of the person through bodywork and movement. Irene, who is also proficient in Italian, Spanish, and French, has a multicultural practice and welcomes clients from all walks of life. She works with individuals and couples for a wide range of concerns: anxiety and depression, relational difficulties, attachment repair, low self-esteem concepts, lifestyle issues, somatic disturbances, chronic pain, trauma and PTSD, and on to existential matters and grief and loss. In addition, Irene has a specific interest in helping cult members and survivors, Institutional abuse survivors, developmental trauma survivors, sexual abuse survivors in the trauma area. Working with both mind and body awareness, she understands each individual as a whole person. She believes in her client's intrinsic abilities to grow inner resources and generate enduring personal change. Irene moves away from the traditional one-size-fits-all endeavour of therapy. Instead, she is trained in an Integrative Model of Psychotherapy. Drawing upon different evidence-based models and theories to create a treatment that specifically addresses her clients' unique experiences and concerns, She uses a person-centred and collaborative approach, has a warm and compassionate presence, a great capacity for deep attunement and relational cues and works in collaboration with the client to ensure each personal need are met. Originally from Italy, Irene has lived in different countries, experiencing the impact different cultures and socio-economical differences might have on people's ways of being.
