Overview

Registered Psychologist PSY0002606499 Hi, I’m Niro. I’m a registered psychologist who’s passionate about walking alongside children, teens, and young adults as they navigate life’s twists and turns. I’m deeply curious about the unique world young people are growing up in today, and I truly believe in their ability to grow into confident, capable, and resilient individuals. My path here has been anything but straight. I’ve worked in the corporate world, where I learned the pressures of workplace politics and balancing family life, and I’ve been a teacher, finding joy in supporting students both academically and socially. These experiences shaped my down-to-earth style and gave me a broad perspective on the challenges people face. I work through a trauma-informed lens, always holding space for the experiences that shape each person’s story. My approach is strength-based—I love helping young people uncover what’s already strong within them and build on it. I use evidence-based therapies like CBT, ACT, and DBT in a way that’s practical, person-centred, and empowering. I’m also passionate about the impact of social media on mental health. I’ve published research in Discover Psychology exploring personality traits linked to harmful online behaviours such as cyberbullying and cybertrolling, with the aim of helping create safer online spaces for young people. Outside of work, you’ll often find me getting messy with acrylic pouring and resin art, leaving kindness rocks for others to discover, or lending my time to charities that support people in need here in Australia and overseas. Kindness and compassion aren’t just part of my job—they’re values I live by. And, as a mum of three, I understand firsthand the joys, challenges, and ever-changing landscape of childhood and adolescence. That mix of professional expertise, personal experience, and curiosity is what I bring to every session.
