Kara is a clinical psychologist with over 10 years’ experience across clinical and educational settings, supporting individuals and families through life's complexities. Her mission is to foster healing and empowerment within a nurturing environment, where clients discover their inner strengths, values and embark on a transformative journey towards holistic wellness. Kara utilizes evidence-based therapies tailored to each individual's unique needs, including compassion-focused therapy (CFT), cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and schema therapy. She is committed to creating a warm, non-judgemental space to enable self-awareness, resilience and personal growth. Kara’s approach emphasizes holistic wellness & vitality as being fundamental to health longevity and balance throughout all stages of life. As a mother of twins herself, Kara is particularly passionate about postnatal counselling. She strives to support parents with the many momentous challenges, life changes and rollercoaster of emotions experienced throughout early parenthood, while supporting strong and meaningful family foundations and connections and increasing all parents’ happiness and fulfillment from parenthood. Kara has extensive experience in supporting a range of challenges, including: • Perinatal mental health issues • Anxiety and stress • Depression • Coping with change • Grief/ Loss • Relationship difficulties SERVICE OFFERINGS Individual counselling session (50-minutes) Online/ Telehealth counselling session (50-minutes) Fee (50-minute session) Medicare rebate Out of pocket cost $230* $141.85 $88.15 Kara is a clinical psychologist registered with Medicare to provide psychological services under the Better Access Initiative. Eligible clients can claim a Medicare rebate of $141.85 per individual session for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. This reduces out-of-pocket costs to $88.15 per session. In order to receive a rebate from Medicare, you will need to make an appointment with your GP to obtain a referral and mental health treatment plan. Please bring a copy of your referral and mental health treatment plan to your first appointment in order to claim Medicare rebate. *The APS National Schedule of Recommended Fees 2023-2024 for Psychologists has a standard 46 to 60-minute consultation fee at $300.
