Jordana is a Clinical Psychologist with a Master of Applied Psychology (Clinical) with training in both cognitive behavioural therapies and psychodynamic psychotherapy. Jordana draws on a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches to tailor the therapy to the unique needs, aspirations and goals of each client. Jordana helps individuals address their difficulties through the development of a deeper understanding of themselves, their past and present experiences, and their unconscious motivations. She recognises each client’s individuality and helps them create meaningful lives, which are guided by their values and lived in the present moment. Jordana draws on techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy (for trauma) and Circle of Security Parenting. Jordana strives to create a safe, respectful and supportive environment for this process by being empathic, open-minded, and non-judgemental. She values and respects people’s humanity and the variety of ways in which they experience and live their lives. Jordana primarily works with individuals experiencing difficulties with anxiety, depression, trauma, interpersonal relationships, life transitions and adjustment, perinatal anxiety and depression, parenting difficulties, grief and loss, and substance use. Depending on the individual’s needs, Jordana works with clients in either a short, medium, or long-term therapeutic process. In addition to her role with Humans Being Counselling, Jordana also works at the St John of God Langmore Centre Parent Infant Unit in Berwick.
