Ms Helen Uba Social Worker

Helen Uba is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) offering compassionate, trauma-informed counselling for adolescents aged 16+ and adults. Helen supports people experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, relationship difficulties, stress and challenging life transitions. Her approach is warm, collaborative and non-judgmental, helping clients understand their experiences, build emotional resilience and create meaningful, lasting change. Drawing on evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and DBT-informed strategies, Helen tailors counselling to each person's individual needs. Based in Armidale, NSW, Helen provides telehealth counselling across Australia, with face-to-face appointments available locally by arrangement. Medicare rebates are available for eligible clients with a Mental Health Treatment Plan. Faith-integrated counselling is also available for clients who request it.
