Gurpal is a clinical Mental Health Social Worker and Psychotherapist with extensive experience working with individuals who have experienced psychological distress and trauma. She is known for her warm and calm presence, and provides a supportive and collaborative space for clients to freely discuss and explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences. Integrating a psychodynamic and attachment-based approach, she works with careful attention and sensitivity to each clients’ individual experience and needs. Gurpal works with a wide variety of psychological presentations, with a special interest in: Trauma and emotional injury (childhood trauma); Anxiety and Stress; Depression and mood dysregulation; Adjustment difficulties; Grief and loss; Disordered eating and body image concerns; Perinatal mental health (mental health during pregnancy and early parenthood); Adrenal Fatigue and/or Burnout; Study/Workplace Stress; Relationship and interpersonal difficulties. Gurpal holds a Bachelor of Social Work (Honours), Postgraduate Diploma in Parent and Infant Mental Health, and has completed training in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. She is also trained in EMDR for trauma processing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mentalisation-Based Therapy (MBT).
