Emma is a registered Psychologist and Clinical Registrar with experience working across the life span. Prior to working at Psychology 806 Emma has previously worked with children, adolescents and their families within schools and private practice., she has also worked with older adults and their families within residential aged care facilities. Emma has experience in completing cognitive assessments and a strong interest in working with children, adolescents and young adults.
Emma's work is informed by Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Schema Therapy and she utilises these frameworks to guide clients in building self-awareness and self-compassion.
Emma tailors evidence-based therapies to each client and understands the importance of developing a strong rapport with her clients. She aims to create an honest and open space where they can safely explore both their current and past experiences, ensuring a trauma informed and neuro-affirming environment. She works collaboratively with clients to build their understanding of themselves, and resilience for future challenges that may arise.
