Bernadette thoroughly enjoys working via a transparent and swift outcome-focused basis with Individuals, Adolescents, Couples, Families, and Significant others, with vast personal life experience, specialising in assisting with • Anxiety, Depression, and Life stressors, lifespan navigation and adjustment • Interpersonal, and relationship issues • Family, parenting, and couples’ issues • Grief and loss • Trauma, PTSD, and complex trauma, Adverse childhood experiences • Alcohol and other drug issues – users and significant others • FIFO workers and significant others Bernadette is located in Perth and has experience working with clients from across the lifespan, various cultural backgrounds, and various contexts. She has vast experience as a clinician from her time spent as a Crisis Support Counsellor at Lifeline; school psychologist in the public education system working with adolescents and families; Intensive support worker for individuals with significant mental health issues and their families; Educator/counsellor at Cyrenian House working with individuals, significant others, couples and families regarding alcohol and other drug issues within the legal and community systems; Therapist for victims, families and perpetrators of all forms of domestic and personal violence; Couples and Families therapist assisting navigation of life’s stressors inclusive of FIFO challenges and implementing family system harmony. Early intervention is key. Bernadette works from a person-centred, psycho-social-biological, and systems models utilising evidence-based treatment approaches such as Interpersonal Therapy (IT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to achieve positive outcomes.
