My goal as a psychologist is to empower clients to live meaningful and fulfilling lives, thus making my role redundant. I have a strong interest in the neurological underpinnings of mental health and the effects of life stressors including trauma, but also the innate potential of our minds to recover and heal.
I work with children, adolescents and adults, offering compassionate and collaborative therapeutic support for a variety of presentations. My approach is analytical, yet informed by a holistic perspective that considers the mind-body connection. In this way, clients can understand the specific, yet interconnecting factors that relate to their challenges and the resulting impact. Greater understanding can then inform strategies that can initiate change and promote wellbeing.
I utilise evidence-based interventions through a strengths-based, neuro-affirming and trauma-informed lens. My therapeutic approach integrates a range of modalities including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), and schema therapy.
Through my former professional roles in diverse countries, I have developed an understanding of the broad cultural and social factors that impact mental health and wellbeing. These experiences have enriched my current practice as a psychologist and contributed to a desire to embolden and empower vulnerable and marginalised members of our community.
