Mrs Marcia Maydana Psychologist

Marcia is an experienced and skilled psychologist who provides attuned, personalised & evidenced-based treatment to individuals across the lifespan. As a psychologist, Marcia is passionate about working with individuals (age 13+) who are struggling with life challenges, and believes that a trusting and compassionate environment is essential to promote change and improve emotional wellbeing. Marcia dedicated 14 years to her work in private practice in Sydney before relocating to the Sunshine Coast. She has a particular interest in the treatment of trauma, PTSD and anxiety disorders, including panic, generalised anxiety, phobias and PTSD. Marcia brings extensive experience working with adolescents, adults and couples assisting with trauma and attachment issues, relationship difficulties, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, adjustment issues and emotional regulation. She is committed to her continued learning and skill development, bringing to her expertise a variety of evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Applied Neuroscience and Gottman Method Couple’s Therapy. Marcia has an Honours degree in Psychology from the Pontifical Catholic University in Brazil. She is a fully registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Member of The Australian Psychological Society (MAPS), Accredited Schema Therapist by ISST, Certified Applied Neuroscience Practitioner and a Gottman Couple's Therapist (Level 2).
