Overview

Josh is a warm and compassionate psychologist who provides an affirming therapeutic space to all people he works with. He has a keen interest in a wide range of psychological problems, with a passion for working with trauma, men’s health, and neurodiversity. Josh strives to empower individuals to access their innate inner resources, and to walk alongside them on a path of healing, resilience and growth. Josh is passionate about working with adults and teenagers (age 14+) experiencing anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anger, stress, and emotion dysregulation difficulties, along with those seeking personal growth and greater reflective insight. He also has a special interest in men’s health and for providing neurodiversity-affirming therapy to individuals with autism and ADHD, having spent several years working in this space. Josh possesses a deep appreciation for the unique challenges often faced by neurodivergent people, and has a strong belief in inclusion, acceptance and celebration of all individuals. As an integrative therapist, Josh’ therapeutic approach is heavily informed by experiential modalities including Mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with a particular passion for Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS) and trauma-informed care. He is also undergoing EMDR training in June 2024 to compliment his work in the trauma field. To maintain a high standard of evidence-based and trauma-informed care, Josh remains committed to continued professional development and regularly attends training, psychology supervision, and clinical workshops. Prior to his clinical work in psychology, Josh spent time working in disability support and coaching (incl. boxing), and was previously a professional athlete.
