Mr Jamie Small Psychologist

I am a clinical psychologist providing in-person consultations in Yeppoon and telehealth consultations across Australia for adolescents, adults, and older adults. I have worked in psychology since 2012 across clinical, forensic, educational, and community roles in regional and remote Queensland, with extensive experience in mental health care, suicide prevention, and community initiatives. I primarily use evidence-based cognitive behavioural therapy, alongside emotion-focused, mindfulness-based, and trauma-informed approaches. My practice interests include autism and intellectual disability; complex co-occurring mental and physical health conditions; psychosis; trauma- and personality-related difficulties; mood disorders; rural mental health; the psychological wellbeing of men and boys; and persistent pain and injury rehabilitation. I also conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, both in person and online, including NDIS psychosocial functional capacity; intellectual and cognitive functioning; autism and ADHD in adults; personality and diagnostic assessment; child and adolescent behaviour and emotional functioning; and learning and academic achievement. I hold a Bachelor of Psychology with Honours and a Master of Psychology in Clinical Psychology and am a Psychology Board of Australia-approved supervisor. I accept Medicare, private, and third-party funded referrals. WorkCover Queensland, NDIS, DVA, Queensland Police Service, and approved insurer-funded services are typically provided without a client gap. Medicare Better Access consultations currently have a $125 gap fee.
