Dr Michael Mackertich

Psychiatrist

Dr Michael Mackertich is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with experience across both public and private mental health services. He completed his medical degree at the University of Sydney and has worked and trained across a variety of metropolitan and regional hospital settings throughout New South Wales whilst becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP). He holds an Advanced Certificate in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr Mackertich grew up on the North Shore and now lives in the area with his young family, bringing a personal understanding of the community he supports. Dr Mackertich sees children, adolescents, and their families across a wide range of mental health concerns. He offers thorough psychiatric assessments and creates management plans tailored to each individual’s unique needs and circumstances. Committed to working collaboratively, he partners closely with families, schools, and other professionals to provide coordinated care.

Psychologist (Provisional)

Michelle is a Provisional Psychologist providing quality evidence-based therapy and assessments. Michelle holds a Master of Professional Psychology (2025), a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with Honours (four years of completed undergraduate study) and is completing her final year of provisional registration under clinical supervision. Michelle works with adolescents (12+), and adults. Michelle practices evidence-based therapy models including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behaviour
Therapy (DBT) and Schema Therapy, to support clients with meeting their clinical goals. Michelle has a wide range of clinical interests and supports clients experiencing depression, generalised anxiety, social anxiety and panic adjustment disorders. Michelle has a holistic approach and focuses on assertiveness, self esteem and confidence growth; relationship skills development including improving social connectedness; emotion regulation skill development and distress tolerance growth. Michelle has a warm and friendly manner and works in collaboration with practitioners and staff at Family Talks Clinic to support clients.

Suzanne has extensive experience in corporate environments, which she leverages in her practice as a psychologist. After a successful career dedicated to leadership, support, and training within the business sector, she has committed herself to her true passion: assisting clients of all ages in leading fulfilling and meaningful lives. Suzanne employs a holistic, strengths-based approach to therapy, motivating clients to navigate their challenges and reach their personal objectives. In addition to offering individual and family counseling, Suzanne conducts formal psychometric and educational assessments to evaluate specific learning difficulties, dyslexia, and intellectual giftedness.
