Katie Smoker – Counselling & Psychotherapy
Katie Smoker is a compassionate and dedicated counsellor and psychotherapist working with individuals, couples, and families. She combines a strong academic foundation in psychology and counselling with advanced clinical training, and is currently completing a Master’s degree in Psychotherapy and Counselling.
Katie has a particular interest in trauma and stress-related conditions. She supports clients experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, complex PTSD, acute stress disorder, social anxiety, OCD, insomnia, low self-esteem, boundary challenges, and identity development. She also works with clients navigating interpersonal dynamics and the introversion–extroversion spectrum.
Her approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practice. Katie integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), (CBT-i), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Schema Therapy, and Trauma-informed care. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-II) and trained in the Gottman Method (Levels I and II), supporting both individuals and couples to build healthier, more connected relationships.
Katie is committed to creating a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and respected. She works alongside each person to deepen self-awareness, strengthen communication, build emotional resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change.
