Overview

Katie Smoker – Counselling & Psychotherapy Katie Smoker is a warm, sincere counsellor and psychotherapist offering individual, couples, and family therapy. With a strong academic foundation in psychology and counselling, and currently completing a Master’s in Psychotherapy and Counselling, Katie integrates advanced clinical training with genuine empathy and the insight of lived experience to support meaningful and lasting change. She has a particular interest in trauma and stress-related conditions and works with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD and complex PTSD, acute stress disorder, social anxiety, OCD, insomnia, low self-esteem, boundary difficulties, identity development, and challenges across the introversion–extroversion spectrum. Katie supports clients to deepen self-awareness, strengthen communication, improve relationships, and build emotional resilience. Katie’s therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based practice and draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Schema Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, and Person-Centred Therapy. As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-II), with specialist training in EMDR, CBT, Schema Therapy, and boundaries work, she provides safe, effective, trauma-informed counselling tailored to each client’s individual needs and goals. Katie is passionate about promoting mental health awareness and emotional well-being. She works collaboratively with individuals, couples, and families to support growth, healing, and movement toward more confident, connected, and purposeful lives.
