Overview

‘Poiesis’ - Deriving from Ancient Greek poiein ("to make"), signifies the act of creation, production, or "bringing forth" something into existence that did not previously exist. It represents a transformative process, often used in philosophy to describe the emergence of a thing from the void into form (various sources). Counselling and psychotherapy are facilitated mental processes, a journey that brings forth an internal, perhaps hidden, untapped source that can guide and nurture your life paths. Jade is an integrative, person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist, seeing teens and adults. She applies a range of appropriate therapeutic approaches in her practice according to the needs of her clients. In consideration of personal context and environment, Jade draws upon Gestalt, Emotionally Focused (EFT), Attachment styles, Trauma-care Practice, ACT and Narrative therapies. Building genuine rapport and strong alliances with her clients, Jade champions those she works with for the purpose of helping them reach their goals. With the basis of the psychodynamic approach, Jade can use creativity, imagery and visualisation to draw deeper into the client's experiences. Jade supports those suffering grief, loss and trauma. She has supported women from family and domestic violence and pre- and post-pregnancy care. Jade values culture, diversity and inclusivity and has woven her journey through the complexities of social and cultural issues in this evolving landscape. A parent of young adults, Jade is happy to share parenting highlights and experiences. After a significant history in operational and client services roles, Jade turned toward her passion and niche to support people in their mental health and well-being journeys. Jade also had years of experience volunteering in charities and local community organisations. Counselling and psychotherapy are not quick fixes nor easy solutions. Life and relationships are complex. It takes patience and bravery to unravel these complexities.
