Cira is a Psychotherapist, registered Counsellor- ACA and Social worker- AASW. Her compassionate approach provides a safe and welcoming space for individuals to promote self- awareness, acceptance, integration a and meaningful experience that supports healing, wellbeing, and growth. She has experience supporting a diverse range of clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, addiction, grief, and loss. Each session with Cira is tailored to the specific therapeutic needs of each client. Cira provides an integrated, client-centred approach, incorporating from a variety of evidence-based interventions and therapeutic modalities, including experiential and Transpersonal Psychotherapy (TEP), Mindfulness and Acceptance-Based Therapies, and Emotion-focused Therapy (EFT), which allows know where her clients are and support them on their unique life journeys. Cira's ability to empathise with people from many cultural backgrounds is essential because she has personally faced the difficulties of migration to Australia. Additionally, Cira is a lead facilitator in Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), an 8-week program that aims to support individuals and groups develop attentional and emotional skills. She can also provide counselling sessions both in English and Spanish.

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in Psychology by the Ramon Llull University of Barcelona and a Postgraduate Specialist Degree in Expressive Therapies and Interdisciplinary Art Therapy by the European University of Valencia. She is also trained in Systemic Family Therapy by the Sistemic Institute of Barcelona (ISBA) in collaboration with the Mental Research Institute of Palo Alto. At the moment Damaris is coursing a double Master in Child development and Autism. Dámaris is a multilingual, worldly travelled person who has experience working with a diverse range of clients including children, adults, women, families and the elderly, from different cultures, socio-economic status, level of education, beliefs and religions. Damaris has experience working in a semi-private school as a school psychologist doing behaviour and cognitive assessments, individual curriculum plans and therapy for children 3-16 years. She usually works in collaboration with families, teachers and other external agencies and professionals. She has been running expressive and art therapy groups to help clients develop a variety of skills, increasing self-esteem, self-empowerment, assertive communication and social skills. Dámaris has experience working in public and private hospitals with multidisciplinary teams. In the public sector, she has worked in Systemic Family Therapy. In the private sector, she supported patients experiencing a variety of illnesses, mostly oncological, and severe life crisis. In the last 3 years, Damaris has been working privately at Thornbury (Victoria) as a counsellor, art therapist and group facilitator.
