Edy is a Registered Psychologist with an immigrant background, having grown up in Australia. He understands the complexities of accessing mental health support and the challenges of finding the right therapist. He provides culturally sensitive care, ensuring clients feel understood and supported in their journey towards mental well-being. Edy takes an honest, direct, and compassionate approach to therapy, creating a safe and collaborative space for clients to explore their emotions, develop self-awareness and build resilience. He works with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, bipolar disorder and intellectual disabilities, tailoring evidence-based interventions to meet their unique needs. His practice integrates a range of therapeutic approaches, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Eric is a highly skilled and compassionate Psychologist with over two decades of experience supporting individuals through significant life challenges. With a foundation of more than 20 years in counselling and 7 years practicing as a Registered Psychologist, he brings a depth of insight, steadiness, and genuine care to his work. His approach is grounded in the belief that seeking support is a courageous step, and that everyone deserves a safe, respectful space to be heard, understood, and supported. Eric works primarily with adults and has extensive experience across diverse communities, identities, and presentations. He is known for his calm, warm, and non-judgemental presence, meeting each person where they are and moving at a pace that honours their needs. His practice is holistic and collaborative, focusing not only on reducing distress but also on strengthening one’s sense of meaning, self-connection, and emotional wellbeing. Eric brings a thoughtful, considered approach that helps clients feel comfortable, validated, and empowered in their therapeutic journey. Across his career in not-for-profit and community sectors, Eric has supported some of the most vulnerable individuals in the community. His areas of expertise include trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, addictive behaviours, work-related difficulties (EAP), and complex circumstances such as elder abuse, offending behaviours, and the impacts of International Parental Child Abduction (IPCA). His breadth of experience enables him to hold space for people navigating distress, uncertainty, and change with sensitivity and clarity. Eric integrates evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). His extensive counselling background further enhances his understanding of relational and psychodynamic processes, allowing him to connect deeply and authentically with the people he supports. He holds a Master of Counselling, a Postgraduate Diploma of Psychology, a Bachelor of Behavioural Science, and a Graduate Diploma of Forensic Risk Assessment and Management.
