Overview

Rebecca is a Clinical Psychologist who completed her Undergraduate Degree in Psychology at The University of Newcastle followed by her Psychology Honours year. Rebecca completed her 4-year post-graduate degree of Master of Psychology (Clinical) at Charles Sturt University graduating with Distinction and awarded the Executive Dean’s Prize for Academic Excellence. Rebecca was awarded her Doctorate, PhD at The University of Sydney, in the area of rehabilitation psychology (depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder resulting from life adversity). Rebecca remains a Post-Graduate Research Fellow of The University of Sydney. Rebecca is registered with the NSW Psychologists Registration Board and AHPRA, and is a Fellow of the College of Clinical Psychologists. She is Medicare, WorkCover, Private Health Fund, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) accredited. Rebecca works within the evidenced based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy framework. Rebecca predominantly treats adult mental health, and she also has a particular interest in assisting late adolescents navigate their way from teens to early adulthood and beyond. As part of Rebecca’s holistic approach to mental health, she recognises the importance of, and practices a physically healthy lifestyle for optimal physical and mental health, whilst also incorporating this into clinical treatment plans for her patients. Rebecca adheres to the scientist practitioner model, valuing the importance of continued learning whilst also working in private practice. This allows her to bring latest evidenced based knowledge and practices into the clinical setting for the benefit of her patients. She is the author of dozens of peer reviewed clinical publications and continues to add to the academic profession of psychology via her publications. Rebecca’s commitment to the profession has been recognised by The University of Sydney awarding her an Australian Post Graduate Scholarship Award (2015-2018) . With this scholarship Rebecca completed a doctoral thesis by publication in the area of rehabilitation psychology which identified evidenced-based treatments to prevent psychological injuries of Anxiety, Depression and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder experienced by Australians who suffer a motor vehicle accident. This important work was then included in a book published by Nova Science (New York), ‘Adversity after the Crash’; The Physical, Psychological and Social Burden of Motor Vehicle Crashes’ of which Rebecca was Editor, and which experts from around the world contributed their work. This published book remains a valuable resource for individuals, medical professionals and university lecturers and students around the world.
