Dr Maxwell Marrows is a consultation-liaison psychiatrist with an interest in sports psychiatry. Growing up in regional Victoria, he developed a strong appreciation for the importance of accessible mental health care in rural communities — an interest that was further shaped by completing part of his medical education in regional Victoria through the University of Melbourne’s Rural Clinical School. He went on to complete his psychiatry training across metropolitan Melbourne, gaining experience in a broad range of clinical settings, with particular expertise in the interface between physical and mental health through his advanced training in consultation-liaison psychiatry. He also maintains a general adult psychiatry practice, including the assessment and management of ADHD. He is currently completing further study in sports psychiatry.
He is known for his relaxed and approachable interpersonal style, helping patients feel comfortable and supported.
Outside of work, he enjoys running, hiking, spending time with his family, and is a long-suffering Carlton Football Club supporter.
