Dr Jayson Jeganathan is a consultant psychiatrist of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. Dr Jeganathan has a wide range of experience spanning inpatient and outpatient work in clinical psychiatry. Dr Jeganathan graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (University of Sydney) with first class Honours. He undertook specialist psychiatry training in Sydney, Newcastle, and Dubbo to broaden his clinical expertise, working in outpatient clinics, inpatient settings, consultation-liaison, and rehabilitation psychiatry. He has worked in diverse settings including Concord, Liverpool, Campbelltown, Royal Prince Alfred, John Hunter, Morisset, and Dubbo Base Hospitals, as well outpatient clinics in the Greater Hunter region and Newcastle. He has been actively involved in psychiatric research to better the lives of people with mental illness, leading to publications in psychiatry journals and academic presentations at research conferences. He has been awarded several academic prizes including the HETI Mental Health Research Award in 2021 and RANZCP Early Career Psychiatrist Award in 2023. He has interests in medico-legal psychiatry, mood disorders, and psychotic disorders. Dr Jeganathan brings a warm, empathetic, patient-centric approach to his clinical practice, engaging his clients to develop tailored plans for their mental health and well-being.
