Maria is a Registered Psychologist whose special interests are working with Emotional Wellbeing- Stabilising Emotions, Complex Interpersonal trauma (Child Abuse, Neglect and Domestic Violence), Depression, Chronic Stress, Social Anxiety, Self-doubt and Self-worth, developing and maintaining healthy Relationships. She has worked extensively with people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds. She has offered solutions to different age groups including children, adolescents and adults. Maria enjoys helping Couples using Gottman Method Couples Therapy (GMCT). She works with partners to develop mutual understanding, communicate clearly and respectfully, recapture their sense of connection, build ability to support each other and achieve life dreams together. Maria believes in resolving conflict and cultivating healthy thoughts, feelings, emotions and behaviours to improve people’s quality of life. She is also equipped to offer families with the needed support and evidence based strategies that may help them manage parenting and family conflict. Maria has worked using a variety of modalities while applying therapeutic framework of evidence- based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Gestalt and humanistic approaches to Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness, along with Psychoanalytic/Psychodynamic approaches. Maria shares an ideology of one colleague, who said “Happiness is not just a place, but a process. Happiness is an ongoing process of fresh challenges, and it takes the right attitudes and activities to continue to be happy.” This philosophy underpins Maria’s work as she is passionate about actively listening, without judgements to equip people during their on-going journey of achieving their treatment goals. Kristen Bayliss is a psychologist with almost 20 years of experience who is passionate about helping people. She combines her extensive training and years of experience with a common sense approach to assist each and every client to achieve their goals whatever they may be. Kristen has a wealth of experience working with people suffering anxiety, depression, trauma (childhood and recent), grief and loss, work-related issues, health conditions, post-natal depression and relationship issues.

I specialise in issues of self-growth and identity, family and couples therapy, parent-child bonding, working with the LGBTIQA+ community, family of origin exploration and issues, relational and complex trauma such as childhood abuse or neglect, working with men who use violence, and attachment issues. I enjoy working with individuals and couples to really unpack their experiences of relationships and sense of self.
