Days available: Wednesday and Thursday Andreea was born in Romania and moved to Spain in her early teens where she studied to become a psychologist. Was also in Spain where she learnt that hope and resilience can be built even in the most painful and adverse moments in life while working as a psycho-oncologist. Soon after she relocated to Australia and her training and experience gained in Spain contributed to embrace the new role as a general psychologist in private practice and understand that moving countries does not mean necessarily “starting over” but “to be continued” as well. Andreea is also bilingual in Spanish and Romanian which she found to be very helpful her my past experience with clients with a language barrier. Her approach is empathetic, enthusiastic, non-judgemental and focussed on facilitating growth. Andreea works with a variety of clients across their lifespan using evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Client-Centred Therapy (CCT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focussed Therapy (SFT) and Mindfulness.

Anthony Stott has worked in a number of different fields such as teaching, youth work, and training unemployed people. He was a Lifeline counsellor for 5 years and has been in private practice since 2008. Anthony has a gentle, warm, and supportive manner. His work is client-centred and emphasises the building of therapeutic relationships with his clients. He is an excellent listener and quickly tunes in to client distress. Anthony addresses their concerns from a number of perspectives and uses a wide range of therapeutic tools. He believes in individuals and couples growing through their distressing experiences to be able to better promote their own wellbeing in the future. Coping with climate distress has been a passion of Anthony for many years. He is an author of the book “The End of Hitchhiker Inc?? How Failure to Manage Population and Consumption has Led to Climate Emergency and What We Can Do”. He runs an innovative client-centred climate distress program for individuals and groups. Anthony is enthusiastic about using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) for working with clients who have been traumatised. Many peoples’ lives have been dramatically transformed in a short time. Clients who have reported back some time after their EMDR sessions have remarked they have kept the gains made.

The support period ranged between telephone counselling support and face to face support which usually included advocacy for the client and their families at the time and as a result had multiple mental health disorders some of them resulting in substance misuse. Awadia worked with clients diagnosed with depression, anxiety, bipolar and other anxiety related issues. Approach: Awadia believes in choosing the approach that is more suitable to the client rather than following one approach. Every client has a different story and therefore the support period needs to be designed to be able to travel the journey with the client and achieve the best result for them. Awadia uses Narrative therapy as a starting point and then applies CBT, ACT and other therapies that might be of need along the support period. All approaches and techniques are evidence based.

She has over twenty years of counselling experience. She loves seeing transformation in people’s lives, and is passionate about living in a world where people are happier and resourced to live their full potential. Marianne tailors the techniques she uses to the specific needs of each client, and she enjoys utilizing a variety of person-centered therapies. Marianne is able to work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and concerns. Marianne deals extensively with complex trauma. Marianne works collaboratively with her clients to identify and reach their goals. With extensive training in cognitive behavioural therapy and solutions-focused therapy, Marianne also has a keen interest in experiential methods. Rachel prioritises establishing a positive therapeutic relationship with clients through the use of an engaging and collaborative approach to therapy.
