Anya Hughes

Psychologist

Anya has recently completed her Masters in Clinical Psychology and undergoing her registration for Clinical endorsement. Anya originally completed her training as a psychologist in Ireland and worked in a primary care service for adults presenting with significant mental health issues and as an Applied Behaviour Analysis therapist in a specialised Autism unit for children. Since moving to Australia, Anya has had a range of diverse roles including working with children and adolescents identified as at risk for mental health concerns and providing psychological treatment to pain management patients involved in Curtin University's research on the effectiveness of Cognitive Functional Therapy. In private practice here at Ashcliffe, Anya has a special interest in the areas of expressive therapies, Jungian psychology and Schema Therapy as well as EMDR for Trauma and PTSD treatment. Anya's treatment modalities also include CBT, Existentialism, ACT, solution focussed brief therapy and positive psychology. In her spare time Anya is an accredited Yoga instructor and loves to surf.

Heather Marrapodi

Nurse

Heather Marrapodi Bachelor of Science (Comprehensive Registered Nurse) Heather has over 25 year’s experience as a Comprehensive Registered Nurse, specializing in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD). She has worked in a diverse range of AOD area’s including inpatient detox, home based withdrawal, outpatient case management, youth, triage, group work, education, pharmacotherapy, and community nursing. She uses evidence based therapy in the assessment, management and treatment of people experiencing addiction issues, including those with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. She brings her wealth of AOD knowledge to Ashcliffe Psychology and is able to provide individual case management and will be facilitating groups in the MATRIX Program, an intensive outpatient treatment for addiction.

Mr Scott Alfonso

Counsellor

Scott holds a Master's degree in Counselling, and has a commitment to advancing his expertise in mental health. Possessing a mature outlook and a diverse skill set, he offers a unique and insightful perspective in his practice. With a background spanning over 20 years in the culinary industry, Scott underwent a significant career transition to dedicate himself to mental health support. Alongside his extensive experience, he has a solid foundation as a Yoga teacher, bringing a holistic approach to his therapeutic work. Scott has previously contributed to the well-being of individuals across all age groups, particularly those with disabilities. His passion lies in guiding individuals on their mental health journey in partular in the areas of stress reduction, relationships, workplace conflict and addiction. His approach is client centred with a focus on empowering individuals by providing them with the tools and systems necessary to achieve their goals At Ashcliffe, as well as providing individual and relationship counselling Scott is a facilitator of the Matrix Addiction treatment program.

Ms Kerryn Ashford-Hatherly

Psychologist

Kerryn Ashford-Hatherly is a Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience working with alcohol and drug issues, critical incident response, domestic violence and trauma. Her expertise includes counselling, group facilitation, workshops, training and consultancy. Kerryn has presented at conferences and delivered training to organsations in team based personality issues, mental health, fatigue, alcohol and drugs, supervisor support, and various other custom designed packages to meet client organisation needs. Kerryn has an eclectic approach to her clinical work incorporating existential theories alongside evidence based practices such as Solution Focused Brief therapy, CBT, EMDR, Schema Therapy and Transpersonal Therapy. She also runs personal development workshops on The Enneagram, Reflective Practice, Dream work, Mindfulness and Emotional processing. Kerryn is a former Police Psychologist with considerable experience in PTSD and Critical Incident Response planning, implementation and debriefing. She is also Supervisor trained and Director of the Matrix Program for Intensive Outpatient Addiction Treatment .

Ms Lisa Lemme

Lisa's background includes working with substance abuse, trauma, and mental health issues including anxiety and depression. In particular, Lisa has extensive experience working with young adults struggling with anxiety and depression resulting from childhood trauma. She has an eclectic and flexible approach, utilising cognitive behavioural therapies, Eye movement desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), solution focused approaches, Schema Therapy and mindfulness interventions. Lisa has a client centred, warm and empathic approach, which allows her to work effectively with a wide range of clients.

Melissa Burns is an experienced psychologist with a diverse skill set. Melissa's expertise encompasses working with adults, couples, children, and adolescents, addressing a broad range of mental health concerns and fostering emotional and mental wellbeing. Professional Experience: - Co-morbid Substance Use and Mental Health: Melissa has a background in treating individuals presenting with the dual challenges of substance use and mental health issues. Melissa's experience in the addiction field includes supporting families impacted by another's substance use. Melissa is also a facilitator in the Matrix Program which is a non-residential addiction treatment program run by Ashcliffe Psychology. - Adults and Couples Therapy: Melissa has a strong background in working with individuals and couples, in managing relationship issues and mental health disorders such as anxiety and depression. - General Mental Health and Wellbeing: Melissa's area of practice includes addressing sleep disruption, interpersonal conflict and workplace stress.
