Overview

Amy is passionate about the importance of improving clients' experience of sex, and advocating for sex positivity and the reduction of shame, stigma and guilt about different sexual practices, both at an individual and community level. She is experienced in working with clients who are negotiating trauma related to unwanted sexual experiences, disrupted attachment, and complex or intergenerational trauma, and clients who are exploring or affirming their sexual and gender identities. She is also interested in working with clients who are motivated to begin or maintain healthy relationships with pornography, kink and non-monogamy, and in how body image affects people's ability to initiate and enjoy sex, and to view themselves as sexually attractive. Amy has previously worked as a performance psychologist, delivered treatment to reduce sexual offending behaviour and maintain sexual behaviour change, and has lots of experience working with younger adults. She has provided supervision to provisional, early career and established psychologists and other allied health practitioners, on topics ranging from clinical work, establishing a sense of identity as a practitioner and navigating systemic challenges in the public mental health network.
