Dr Tavis Watt

Psychologist

Tavis has been a psychologist for over 18 years, initially working in human resources before developing into general management roles. As a psychologist in the Australian Army he has deployed on various overseas military operations and assisted in domestic disaster zones such as the 2009 Victorian bushfires. Tavis has significant experience in the sporting field, as the Psychologist for the Geelong Football Club (the Cats) and was recently a member of the Australian Representative Team at the Invictus Games as a team psychologist. His education is in business and clinical psychology, where he has interests in trauma, military and emergency services, sleep disorders, depression and anxiety. He is a Member of Australian Psychological Society (MAPS) and a Registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA) where he holds a clinical endorsement. Tavis works from a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) framework, including elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy-(CPT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
