Mrs Claire Swart

Other

Lyno Practitioner-Claire has experience in a range of work environments both in South Africa and the UK. Her main area of expertise is the prevention of recurring injuries and relief of musculoskeletal pain and tension within in the body. She started personal training in 2007 after completing her BSc (hons) degree in Human Kinetics and Ergonomics and Psychology cum laude. From there she completed a range of exercise related and bodywork courses. As a Lyno practitioner she now uses mainly fascia release techniques to address the cause of the injury. Most chronic pain and recurring injuries stem from the body’s retention of past injuries or excessive strain, predominantly stored within the fascia. When the mobility of the fascia is restricted, it leads to misalignment and impaired movement, ultimately causing overload and wear and tear. Through the Lyno method’s comprehensive full body assessment areas of movement restriction are identified and the fascia is released accordingly. Our gentle technique, incorporating soft touch with breathing, fully anchored attention and active movement, activates the parasympathetic nervous system, specifically through the Polyvagal Structure and facilitates the release of these fascia restrictions, restoring the neural pathways necessary for optimum function. This process harmonizes the body and mind, restoring balance and maximizing overall functionality. Depending on the client’s needs she incorporates sports massage, muscle activation, cross pattern conditioning, neural activation and relevant exercises. Of great importance to her is educating her client’s regarding what is causing the problem and how they can best manage it in-between sessions. Every individual is unique and thus requires a slightly different approach. When she isn’t at work she is kept busy by her two young children. She is a strong believer in filling her own cup so she can give more to her family and clients. She enjoys exercising and getting out into nature with her friends and family as much as possible.
