A psychologist since 2006 and a counsellor and family therapist for more than 20 years, Trecia brings extensive experience supporting people through a wide range of emotional, behavioural, relationship and life challenges. Trecia particularly enjoys supporting children and teenagers with the challenges that can come with growing up, including anxiety, big emotions, low confidence or self-esteem, friendships and bullying, school and study stress, behavioural difficulties and feeling overwhelmed. She also provides therapeutic support for people with ADHD and Autism. Trecia may be a good fit for you if... Trecia's Approach Trecia's approach is warm, compassionate and collaborative. She believes that people bring valuable knowledge about themselves and their own lives to therapy, and combines this with her clinical experience to develop an approach tailored to each individual or family. When working with children, Trecia uses an attachment-focused approach and recognises the important role that parents and caregivers can play in supporting a child's wellbeing. Trecia draws upon a broad range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Compassion Focused Therapy, mindfulness and somatic approaches, Internal Family Systems Therapy, family and attachment-focused therapies, Narrative Therapy and play-based approaches for children. Trecia provides therapeutic support for ADHD and Autism but does not currently provide diagnostic assessments.
