As an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, and registered member of the Australian Association of Social Workers I provide a client-centred relational approach that focuses on ensuring the best care possible in a safe, confidential, and supportive non- judgmental environment. I have over 20 years professional experience working with individuals across the life span within both government and community services, with specialised experience within the mental health and trauma sector. I have extensive therapeutic experience working within inpatient trauma settings, Womens Services, Child and Youth Mental Health and Headspace. My experience includes working with a variety of clinical issues such as; mental health concerns - anxiety, stress and mood disorders, complex trauma experiences, attachment vulnerabilities, behavioural and emotional difficulties, self-harm, drug and alcohol concerns, relationship and parenting issues, as well as other difficulties that impact upon relationships and functioning. I practice from a multi systemic lens using varied treatment modalities to suit each persons needs. I am trained in therapeutic interventions such as; Interpersonal Psychotherapy (ITP) Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness and Neurobiological approaches, Circle of Security - child and adolescent development, parenting/ family system work, underpinned by attachment and trauma paradigms. As a curious and compassionate attachment-based clinician I bring a relaxed, warm, and accepting approach to our work together, tailored to your needs and goals, and grounded in best practice. My aim in the first session is to get to know you and gain a greater understanding of what concerns you seek support with, and to develop a collaborative plan together to reach your desired goals.
