Mr Matt Lees-Nunan(He/him)

Counsellor

Matt is in our clinical team and is a qualified Counsellor. Matt is a caring, empathetic and down to earth person who is passionate about helping other people in a variety of ways. Whether it is mental health, physical health or over-all wellbeing, Matt guides his clients in finding the strategies that take them in the direction they truly want to go whilst handling the challenges that life can bring. With previous lived experience with alcohol, drug abuse, anxiety and depression, Matt has utilised many health and wellness strategies to achieve the success he has to date and to in turn help others. For couples therapy, Matt specialises in The Gottman Method which was developed by Dr John Gottman and Dr. Julie Schwartz Gottman with over 30 years of research with over 3000 couples. It is an evidence-based form of couples therapy that strives to assist couples in achieving a deeper sense of understanding, awareness, empathy, and connectedness within their relationships that ultimately leads to heightened intimacy and interpersonal growth. By combining therapeutic interventions with couples' exercises, this type of therapy helps couples identify and address the natural defences that hinder effective communication and bonding. Matt loves helping others to discover their purpose and meaning in life in line with who they authentically are as he believes this is fundamental to living a fulfilling life. He enjoys spending time in nature, discovering quirky cafes with delicious coffee, spending time with family and friends, listening to music and audiobooks and thrives when focusing on health and wellness activities such as gym, yoga, hiking, meditation, mindfulness and breathwork.
