Georgia is passionate about supporting children and their families, youth, and young adults with their mental health and well-being. She brings a compassionate, collaborative, and holistic approach to therapy. Georgia endeavors to offer a space where individuals can express themselves, try new things, and explore skills to help them navigate life's ups and downs and trust their ability to cope. She completed her Bachelor of Psychological Science at the University of Queensland, graduating with First Class Honours. Her thesis focused on the Three Circles of Emotion Regulation and the use of compassion meditation to activate soothing emotions, reduce threat-related emotions, and balance nervous system regulation. Georgia is passionate about using self-compassion interventions with clients across the lifespan. During her university placement, she worked alongside the Murtupuni Centre for Rural and Remote Health in Mt Isa, exploring gaps in youth mental health in rural areas of Australia. Georgia has experience working in the private practice sector in metropolitan, rural, and remote communities. For nearly two years, she provided individual therapy and mental health services to children, adults, and families in underserved rural and remote communities in Central Queensland. She has delivered group therapy programs in social-emotional skill development for children, emotional well-being and relationship skill-building for adolescent females, anxiety awareness, and child developmental education and well-being support for parents of children with complex needs. Georgia uses a variety of therapeutic modalities and enjoys being adaptable in therapy to find what works best for each individual. She takes care to be integrative in her practice, working holistically to consider the mind-body relationship. She often draws from techniques in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Somatic-Focused Therapy, Play Therapy, Schema Therapy, and Compassion Focused Therapy. A mental health professional and an already accomplished horsewoman with a life-long relationship with equines, Brooke is deeply committed to using her therapeutic acumen and equine expertise to further develop the field of childhood trauma and equine facilitated psychotherapy. Compassionate, empathetic, driven and broad-minded, Brooke offers those she meets an open, authentic, relational presence – essential for working with people from all walks of life. Brooke provides services in equine facilitated psychotherapy and other modalities psychotherapy to a diverse range of clients. Brooke's area of passion is in working with children and youth with complex trauma as well as with horses. Brooke is passionate about body based and somatic interventions, and believes in the incorporation of nature based practices into all of her work.
