Theis believes in creating a safe, non-judgemental environment for his work with clients. He believes it is important for the therapist to be present with the client; whatever they are going through or have gone through and for the client to feel safe, validated and authentically listened to in that space. His approach is to work in a collaborative and gradual manner, moving at a pace that feels safe for the client.
