Batel Bareket is a Speech Pathologist and founder of The Speech Path Melbourne, supporting toddlers, children, adolescents and adults across the lifespan with a range of communication and social communication needs. Her areas of interest include Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADHD), intellectual disabilities, Downs Syndrome, speech sound errors, Language Disorders, Global Developmental Delay and Anxiety related to communication. Specific areas of practice: • Receptive and expressive language skills (verbal and written) • Speech sound errors and articulation, speech clarity and rate of speech • Play skills, social interaction and conversational skills • Building and maintaining friendships • Perspective taking and flexible thinking • Problem solving, inferencing and executive functioning skills • Conflict resolution with peers and siblings/adults...etc • Strengthening communication confidence and self esteem • Positive thinking, perfectionism, self talk and growth mindset • Supporting emotional regulation and managing big feelings • Supporting behaviours of concern (e.g. hitting, spitting…etc) through communication and regulation strategies • Speech and language assessments, including CELF and speech assessments (detailed reports and letters of support where needed). Her approach is strengths based, practical and aims to be neurodiversity affirming, while maintaining clear boundaries and realistic expectations. She values close collaboration with families, teachers, and allied health professionals to ensure consistent communication and aligned strategies use across the home, school and therapy environments. Sessions can be arranged one to one, as sibling sessions, peer group sessions, and within the kindergarten, classroom, clinic or home environments. Batel is known for her creative and out of the box therapy sessions, often tailoring activities, games, and discussions to each individual’s interests to keep therapy meaningful, motivating, and FUNctional. She enjoys working with multilingual families and welcomes speakers of English, Hebrew, Russian and other languages.
