Hello,
My name is Aimee.
As a psychotherapist, I have a passion and commitment in assisting you understand how you came to be “you”.
My aim as a clinician is to provide a warm, safe, non-judgemental, and trusting environment to explore whatever it might be that you bring: pain, anxiety, depression, stress, confusions, anger, lack of anger; abuse from others, self-abuse, inner critic and sense of self. You may bring your struggles with current relationships, past relationships; guilt, shame, regrets, grief, loss and disappointments.
As a trauma-informed clinician I hold your hand through deep exploration of unresolved conflicts that may be manifesting from past relationships and/or experiences from childhood.
Creating a space to heal and develop understanding and acceptance of self, is what inspires me in working alongside people.
I work holistically assessing you as a whole person, not just your symptoms or diagnosis.
I work flexibly in my therapeutic approach and integrate modalities to best suit you.
Attachment-based approach used in individual, family, and couples therapy to develop a deep understanding and therapeutic relationship to help you mend, rebuild trust, or recover from fractured family relationships.
I work under a psychodynamic framework - our feelings, motives, behaviours, and decisions are powerfully influenced by our past experiences.
My work with clients is to a largely informed by neuroscience and existential psychotherapy to provide you with compassionate, evidence-based + individualised therapeutic change.
