Indiana Ramos

Speech Pathologist

Hi! My name is Indiana, but you can call me Indy. I am a speech-language pathologist working with Brent and the whole SLCN team to provide quality therapy services online. I have completed a degree in Speech Pathology from the University of the Philippines Manila and finished as a topnotcher in the Philippine National Licensure Exams for SLPs. I had just started working as an SLP when the pandemic hit, which led me to transition and focus my efforts on learning all about Telehealth. I found it amazing how I could connect, treat, and build relationships with my students and their families, even from miles away. I have experience working with children with various concerns in language, speech, pragmatics, fluency, voice, and alternative communication. As a therapist, my goal is to provide children, families, and teachers with the best outcomes using evidence-based treatment approaches, all while honoring the individuality of each child. Furthermore, I value creativity and play, always striving to make sessions fun and memorable for all participants. In my free time, I love immersing myself in nature—going hiking, freediving, and camping. But I also enjoy wandering the city to find hole-in-the-wall cafes and restaurants. I also have a passion for photography and creative media, something I would love to share with you as I get to know you and your family.

Hello, I'm Sakshi, a dedicated overseas-trained psychologist and locally-trained child and family therapist with 2.5 years of enriching experience across diverse mental health settings. My journey began with providing vital telehealth therapy as a crisis intervention counsellor during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Building on my Master’s in Psychology, I furthered my expertise with a Master’s in Counselling from The University of Queensland, accumulating over 400 hours of supervised practice in client-centred interventions. Embracing cultural sensitivity and empathy, I've had the privilege of assisting individuals from varied backgrounds and age groups. My therapeutic ethos combines elements of Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Compassion Focused Therapy, all rooted in an attachment-centered approach. Specialising in child and family therapy, I've honed my skills through hands-on work with neurodivergent children aged two and above. Utilising a tailored blend of behaviour therapy, play-based techniques, and counselling, I strive for personalised interventions that foster optimal outcomes. Collaborating closely with parents, teachers, and caregivers, I recognise the pivotal role of familial support in nurturing children's well-being. Understanding the unique challenges faced by parents of children with special needs, I approach my practice with unconditional positive regard and a systemic perspective, valuing each family's journey with empathy and respect. Beyond my professional endeavours, I find solace in yoga, running, and cherishing moments with loved ones. It's my sincere aspiration to extend my expertise and compassion to empower young children and their families on their path to holistic well-being at SLCN.

Hi, I’m Zahrah. I am a behavioural therapist working with Brent and the team at SLCN. My educational background involves studying a double major in Law and Psychological Sciences in Australia. I have experience in Early Intensive Behavioural Intervention (EIBI) therapy such as ABA (Applied Behavioural Analysis) therapist. I have previously specialised in children under 8 years of age, with a level 3 ASD diagnosis, with varying sensory and communication needs. I have experience in implementing AAC methods including: AUSLAN Key Word Signing, PECS and Proloquo2go devices in behavioural therapy sessions. I also have previous experience in the retail environment, as well as working in an Education and Migration Compliance settings. In my spare time I like to go for long drives, watch tv shows and true crime documentaries, bake and spend time with loved ones. I have always loved interacting with children, especially spending quality time with my nieces and nephews. This soon became a passion once I started EIBI to help children with special needs. I enjoy the development of the children that I work and interact with. I love being able to see the children make progress with their communication skills which subsequently helps with behaviours! My aim at SLCN is to provide fun and meaningful therapy for children as well as providing the guidance and support that SLCN families require under the supervision and guidance of Brent. Each child has a different way of learning, playing and understanding and this means that the therapy that they receive will be tailored to adapt to their needs, as well as meeting family goals. I look forward to getting to know you and your family!
