Nicola Albery is an accomplished mental health therapist with 15 years’ experience. She is an accredited member of both the Australia Association of Social Workers (AASW) and the International Mindfulness and Meditation Alliance (IMMA). Nicola has worked in a diverse range of settings both in the public health sector and private practice. She is committed to providing client-centered care and works with adults, children, adolescents, mothers in the perinatal period and couples.
Nicola accepts GP (Medicare rebate available with mental health care plan), private and NDIS referrals. She is also an approved counsellor with Victims Services (NSW), Bupa Veterans Services and SelfRefer.

Social Worker
Nicola Albery is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker who has over fifteen years’ experience working in perinatal mental health, as well as with children, families and adults with complex mental health conditions.
Specifically, she has experience with acute and chronic mental health presentations and has worked both in both community and clinical settings as a recovery clinician and a generalised counsellor. She also has experience facilitating a range of groups to address anxiety, stress and depression, as well as chronic health conditions.
Nicola uses a client-centered approach and utilises a range of engaging and age-appropriate therapeutic frameworks when working with clients. These include: psychoeducation; mindfulness; anxiety containment strategies; cognitive and behavioural interventions (CBT); emotional regulation strategies; problem solving; activity scheduling; strengths based work; self-care planning; core skills of mental coping based on the acceptance and commitment therapy framework; and general supportive therapy;
Nicola accepts GP referrals with mental health care plan (rebates available), private-fee paying and NDIS clients (plan and self managed). She is also an approved counsellor with EAP, SelfRefer, Victims Services (NSW) and Bupa Open Arms Veterans.
